The next day, I met up with Kristjan and Hilde Kasper to go shopping. The mall was filled with people, trying to get the best deals on designer clothes and accessories. Of course, everyone was looking for something unique and affordable, but it was also fun for anyone who may be new to the world of fashion or just getting into it. It’s a mixed bag of people though; there were some good people making a lot of great deals, and some badasses stealing pages out of books! But they all had one thing in common – they all wanted to look good while doing it. It’s not easy being the last one standing at the beauty counter! So when we arrived at Nordstrom, we kind of expected what we got…
The Nordstrom Makeup Bargain Mall
We started our shopping at the Nordstrom Makeup Bargain Mall, which is located right across the street from the hotel. When we first walked in, we were instantly smitten by the amazing looking collections – we mean, we literally just stood in silence and looked at everything! The Nordstrom makeup section was packed with beautiful pieces, so much so that it almost felt like we were in a store! We got ourselves some eye makeup, some eyelid primer, and some mascara, and went to work. Afterward, we chatted with a ton of beautiful makeup artists and could not help but feel a little overwhelmed by all the options! But we also had the very best vendor, Goodyear, to thank for all the great deals!
Some Good Deals and Others Not So Good
On our way out, we stopped at a department store called CVR to make a few last minute adjustments to our order. We got the perfect deal on an E.L.F. light-up lipstick that I will call the lipstick of my lifetime! Not too shabby! We also got the perfect clearance item on Maybelline’s new HA- pension nail polish – not to mention the sale going on right there in the store! We just needed to pick up our things, and off we went!
Out-illing the competition!
We know we need to do this a little bit more than we normally would, but we will definitely be looking back on our shopping experience with fond memories! One thing we definitely didn’t expect was to be standing in a sea of pretty women the entire time! It’s a really pretty mall, but when you’re competing with a sea of gorgeous,lane-able, beautiful women (usually in heels), you’re out-illiated! That meant we had to work extra hard to find the right pieces and make the right purchase. We found ourselves in front of some great designers, but also in some pretty head-in-the-sand cases where we just needed a certain thing. We ended up looking at maybe five or six designers total, but it felt awesome to be a part of it!
Shopping With Kids
For all the millennial shoppers out there who might want to wear their fashion sense on the tiniest of scales, the Nordstrom Makeup Bargain Mall is the place to go! We spent hours and hours looking at all the different makeup and hair products available, and by the end of the day, we just kept coming back for more! We got our stuff and left, and then we all started doing the dishes, and all we could think about was what we’d bought, and what we wanted to do with it! We found ourselves in a funk for about a month – we just wanted to get back to our normal lives, but we were so overwhelmed by all the options and deals, that we didn’t know what to do with ourselves!
The Great Pumpkin, or How to Look Like One!
We got a little too carried away with our holiday shopping, and we started thinking about what we were going to do with that holiday – how would we like to look like the Great Pumpkin? The answer to all our questions! We all gathered around the fireplace at the hotel, and we lit up a few cigars and talked it up – all the while, we slowly drove ourselves crazy with all the presents, decorations, and shoes we needed! We were all so excited to get started, but at the same time, we were a little bit nervous. We had no idea how this would all turn out, and how it would affect us.
Final Words: Going Out and Look Good
As soon as we stepped outside our door, we knew we had to take one more step and take care of our look. We headed straight to Target, and we began looking for pieces that would help us look our best. We found a ton of amazing basics, but also some more luxurious pieces for the right price. We also began picking up clothes at the nearby L.L. Bean, and we found ourselves in the mood for something extra special! The baggy sweatshirt we bought for the day was too small, but it would have fit perfectly over our negligee! So, we just kept buying the clothes, and that night we all layed down on our side-by-side, and layed it all out on the bed!
