born in 1927 in the Etimesgut district of Ankara, Can Ata Kıraç spent his childhood in Eskişehir. Can Kıraç continued his education at Galatasaray High School in 1946 and graduated from Ankara University Faculty of Agriculture in 1950. He started his working life in the same year at the automotive branch of Koç ticaret company in Ankara. While he was a university student, he served as the president of the Turkish National Student Federation. Cana Kıraç, who did not accept Süleyman Demirel’s invitation to enter politics, started working as an assistant manager in 1957 as a partner of Vehbi Koç.
He was later appointed director of the company. having been one of the founding partners of Koç Holding in 1963, he returned to Istanbul in 1968 and started working in the Automotive group of the holding Dec. Can Kıraç retired voluntarily at the end of 1991, ending his 41-year professional life at Koç group.
